RON CLOSES ON THREE YACHTS IN FOUR DAYS! Early December proved to be an exciting time at Ardell, with the sale of the 140' Westship “MARTHA ANN” and a marathon four days for myself with the sales of three yachts being finalized one after the other!
Closing two days after FIREBIRD, was “OUR FIRST EDITION”, a 2007 Neptunus motor yacht. This Canadian built boat has already left Fort Lauderdale for a shakedown cruise in the Florida Keys. This boat sold after only six weeks on the market, proving that a good boat, properly marketed and priced, can move very quickly, even in these uncertain times.

Ardell Announces the Sale of the 88’ Sailing Yacht AFRICAN QUEEN AFRICAN QUEEN, a 1988 MAXI 88 by CIM, is one of the nicest sailing yachts for sale in this category worldwide and was recently sold by Ardell to Miami based owners. AFRICAN QUEEN had been refit by her prior owners in anticipation of a world cruise and came back on the luxury yachts for sale market due to a change in the owner’s plans. Ardell sold the boat within less then a month of the time she came onto the market and within three weeks after placing an offer on the yacht. AFRICAN QUEEN was one of only two of these yachts originally built with three staterooms, as opposed to the normal four stateroom design, and features an unusually large and open layout with a very large, full beam, owner’s suite situated aft of the engine room. AFRICAN QUEEN immediately left for France after completion of the purchase deal in Freeport, Bahamas and is now cruising with her new owners in the Med. Ardell Brokerage Announces the Sale of LAUREN ASHLEY, a 78’ Choey Lee Motor Sailor Ardell has concluded the sale of LAUREN ASHLEY, one of three 78’ pilothouse motor sailing, ketch rigged sailing yachts. These boats are noteworthy because of their extremely roomy interiors, including a full beam owner’s stateroom, a queen size VIP and two twin guest staterooms. These boats also provided for a crew of up to three with private access from on deck and even a small crew lounge. These yachts also feature a very large lower salon, a modern and roomy galley and a full six person enclosed pilothouse with a full helm station. Unusually, this design provides an outside helm, with full sail control, on a raised “fly bridge” just aft of the pilothouse, which gives great forward visibility. LAUREN ASHLEY is powered by two V8 Cat diesels and I personally saw her exceed 12.5 knots under power (sails up) in moderate to heavy seas! That unexpected speed (which is not recommended!) was matched by very good performance under sail, while in 15 to 20 knot conditions. All and all, this is a great deal of sailing yacht packed into 78’ luxury yacht for sale package! |
